Intro
We're Roboto Studio, a boutique studio that builds modern websites, web apps, ecommerce, and agentic infrastructure with tools like Sanity, Contentful, Next.js, and Shopify. We're looking for a brand designer to help shape the visual identity of the brands we work with, as well as build and improve on Roboto's own design system and marketing assets.
We're a small, tight-knit team where everyone takes ownership, has real taste, and moves fast. The brand work you make won't sit in a slide deck. It ships into live sites, design systems, and everything we put out, so it has to hold up.
What you'll do
- Understand the client's requirements and craft the brand and its design assets end to end, taking feedback and working alongside internal and external teams
- Define and deliver brand guidelines covering typography, colour palettes, imagery, iconography, patterns, and graphic devices
- Create polished case study designs and mockups that show our client work
- Build and maintain design systems and design tokens to keep things consistent across digital touchpoints
- Produce brand assets for web, social, presentations, and marketing collateral
- Work alongside our developers and wider team to make sure brand work holds up in production
- Own brand consistency across everything we put out
What we're looking for
- Above all else: taste, pace, and care for craft. You've got a great eye, you want to move fast, and you sweat the details
- Strong communication. We're spread across the world, so you talk openly about your work and share your thinking, rather than leaving the PM to dig through Figma layers to figure out what you meant
- Pragmatic in your decisions. Design has to translate into code without a performance hit and ship on time, so you balance sweating the details with actually getting work out the door
- 3+ years in brand design with a solid digital portfolio
- Proficient in Figma and Adobe Creative Suite
- Experience building and managing design systems and design tokens
- Comfortable creating mockups and presentation-ready case studies
- Good understanding of typography, colour theory, layout, and hierarchy
We're a small team where everyone owns their work, so there's no hand-holding and nowhere to hide. You'll QA your own output, catch your own details, and ship brand work you can stand behind without someone checking in over your shoulder. Your work speaks for itself, and there's real room to make a name for yourself.
Nice to have
- Experience working alongside UI or product designers, or a background in UI yourself
- Familiarity with how design tokens feed into front-end development
- Motion or animation skills

The nature of your contract
We believe in finding only the very best fit for our business. We are an incredibly tight-knit, agile team, and because of this every member must either be at the 'top of their game', or be willing to put in the blood sweat and tears it takes to achieve that.
Therefore, we want to ensure you're the right fit for us, and we're the right fit for you. We offer a 3-month fixed-contract period and paid work trials that allow candidates to engage in real projects that reflect our startup environment. This method tests the skills and attributes that matter in our fast-moving setting but also ensures a mutual fit for both parties involved.
At the end of the 3-month contract, if you feel you would like to continue with our team and the feeling is mutual, we can offer a permanent position for this role.
